Project Updates:

  • I never did the clinical trial that I created for the course, as my preliminary data did not work out the way I expected.  Still, I learned a lot.

  • In 2013 I was asked to be the second in command for a Phase 3 clinical trial and co-wrote the Protocol and grant application, using the knowledge I gained in the course.  We were funded (NCT03300648)

  • In 2020 I applied for a Phase I/II clinical trial as the PI and it was awarded.  That study is ongoing (Study Details | DON in Pediatric Cerebral Malaria | ClinicalTrials.gov)
